Church Farm's diverse range of habitats means it's a haven for many species. Nightingale's currently singing from the dense hedgerows, ragged robin and cuckooflower flowering on the marshes and water voles feeding in the dyke margins. A hidden gem!

Lovely start to #NoMowMay , walking along the #hedgerows , grassy verges, past the allotments & into the #orchard . Saw; green vein whites, peacock, small blue & orange tip butterflies, bumblebees & plenty of other #pollinators . Nature corridors are so important. #SaveCotonOrchard
Let’s celebrate our healthy and resilient, species-rich hedgerows.

And what a monstrosity we now see that it is. Sitting high in the landscape, reminding me of those beacons in Lord of the Rings Hedgerows to go (biodiversity too). Perhaps all #FutureBiogas plants can signal one another? Mordor ahoy #buckminsterestate George Monbiot lucy siegle
For anyone interested in #biodiversity #nature and #hedgerows we are organising a free event with Hedgerows Ireland. Booking essential. Great way to see historic #VinegarHill also
