Lovely seeing all the #MarRefMemories tweets. The excitement, positivity and sense of pride in my country as I was #hometovote will never be forgotten.
The #HomeToVote emigrants took every ferry and plane back from the UK, the USA, South America, Continental Europe, Asia and even Australia to vote YES. It was quite extraordinary to witness it. I was no more than a keyboard warrior, documenting the swell.
One year ago today, as I flew over Ireland, I took this picture. Undoubtedly joined in the sky alongside thousands of Irish women and men, making the journey home, to cast their vote; to change the landscape of our country forever. And that we did. We repealed. #HomeToVote 🇮🇪
To our citizens overseas: Many of you travelled home to vote on repeal and marriage equality ✈️🚢
When the time comes will you come home to vote in person or vote by post in the referendum on Irish Unify? 🇮🇪🗳
