Bob Kopp What ? We've been living in an 'ice house' for over 3,000,000 years now! The last 'hothouse' climate was over 40 M years ago! 😎

Published nearly 18 months, everything I write in still applies - only more so.

Try and find time during the holiday merrymaking to read about our grim future.

The truth is we have absolutely nothing to celebrate.

ARE WE REALLY SURE WE REALIZE THAT our may be approaching a planetary threshold that could lock in a continuing rapid pathway toward much hotter conditions, also called ? And it could be only decades ahead at a temperature rise of ∼2.0 °C above preindustrial

Out in the US this coming Tuesday (27th).

If you are seriously interested in the truth about breakdown and what it will be like to live on then this is the book for you.

Speaking of honest scientists - Here is one. @ProfBillmcGuire. We must amplify their voices over the careerists on the msn. 'You can say goodbye to 1.5C and 2C too'

Finance needs to be part of the 'widespread, rapid and fundamental transformations' required to reduce the risk of locking in the pathway. For finance, this will mean changes in behaviour, technology & innovation, governance & values. See pnas.org/content/115/33…

In this video Prof. Will Steffen shows a landscape model that helps understanding the current state of the earth. We are at high risk of pushing the earth into a very stable new state. 'We’re not going to go back to the Holocene. That’s gone.'

Like many of the top scientists, Bill McGuire throws his whole self into this. He is honest and gets very involved. I do recommend his book as it is easy to understand & hence good for sharing with people who don't quite get it yet.
