Today,at 68,I climbed Knockfierna for the 1st time. How blessed we are to have so many great places to go locally to walk&reflect. Knockfierna symbolised the challenge facing us. There may often be challenging hills in front of us,but step by step,we can surmount them. Love, Mary

In Ireland it was thought that if the peak of Knockfierna mountain looked blue and distant the harvest would be good. If it looked green and near the harvest would be poor. If a flood occurred in May there would be another flood during harvest time.

Fantastic pilgrimage today to Knockfierna with the 5th years and Gerry O'Connor . We had a talk on the famine houses by local Historians Patrick O Donovan and then mass at the Mass rock . The Redemptorists St.Clement's College Seamus Enright

Bonfire at the end of the Knockfierna New Years Day walk, followed by ceoil & craic in the Rambling Inn. A lovely start to 2018!
