The results of the study suggest that Epipalaeolithic hunter-gatherers relied heavily on wetland plant resources. The cultural importance of wetland resources to Epipalaeolithic foodways is also demonstrated through macrobotanical evidence.

The paper discusses a multi-proxy archaeobotanical dataset from 19 Epipalaeolithic sites over a period of 13.5 ka. It includes over 200 phytolith samples, macrobotanical evidence from seeds, plant tissues and wood charcoal, and other microbotanical data.

Dr. Snarky-ologist DO NOT DISCARD SAMPLES. Lol. There’s always work around especially because we have soooooo much backlog of unanalyzed materials - but especially I suspect macrobotanical materials.

Nicole BOO 👻💀🕸️🩸🔪 Send them to me! Lol. I use them when sorting light fraction macrobotanical samples. They’re great (or small low wall tins) because they don’t gather static electricity quite as bad as plastics.

Moss Man Sam For almost 24 years now. I was last at Edisto Island working with the SC DNR, assisting in excavation and sample recovery/processing. I now have my own macrobotanical analysis contracting company (website in my bio!) They are a client. I’ll be analyzing those samples this spring!
