A formiga-panda não é um panda nem uma formiga. É uma vespa/Euspinolia militaris/Mutillidae, cujas fêmeas não têm asas. Em sua defesa, pode fazer barulhos, uma dica para os predadores se afastarem, mas se insistirem, ferroa de forma muito dolorosa. É encontrada no Chile. 🤏

This amazing ant is Ephutomorpha porrecticeps, a Velvet Ant from the family Mutillidae. Velvet Ants are found across Australia and live in urban areas, forests/woodlands, heath, and wetland areas. They get their name from the wingless female that resembles a hairy/velvety ant.

Velvet ants (Mutillidae) are all stunning, but this huge one is clearly the most beautiful species I've encountered so far: Ephutomorpha paradisiaca 🇵🇬

This insect is a velvet ant. Velvet ants are wasps with wingless females, and winged males.

Son de la Familia Mutillidae, y en realidad solamente las hembras carecen de alas, los machos si poseen
