If NZTA cut red tape and allowed VTNZ to conduct tests in addition to lessons, the backlog would disappear, prices would come down so both learners & testers would benefit.

😂😂 So the reason Te Huia 'is missing its targets' is that as SOON as anti-train NZTA saw that it was not only meeting but EXCEEDING!! its initial targets, it moved the goalposts and RAISED them, to make it look like it was failing!!

NZTA have released a public beta. The publicity runs explicitly contrary to the terms.

Beta testing is a useful way of getting consumer feedback before you have a final application. But, this is a heck of a lot of sensitive personal information to run through a beta test.

As long as Te Huia is allowed to complete its agreed 5 year trial by Waka Kotahi NZTA, then we can plan for improvements to make it even more useful long term.

Some of these ideas may sound like fantasy in NZ, but they are normal in many countries.

Freedom fighter The problem is the NZTA gifted a testing monopoly to VTNZ. Any qualified driving instructor should be able to do the testing, possibly not of their own students. I always smell the whiff of corruption around exclusive deals, especially when there is no justification for them.
