David Bruce Alfie Michael Stewart Fans will always argue about subjective decisions, that's part of the game, but when there are major flaws in the decision making process it undermines the credibility of all officials. If the systems fails, fair enough, but be open & transparent about it & let everyone know
David Bruce Alfie Michael Stewart It's just incomprehensible that VAR would get involved if it's not working & why wouldn't you allow the match referee to make the decision now that its subjective??
Maybe some clarity would help everyone
David Bruce Alfie Michael Stewart Hawkeye not working was a major flaw, VAR guessing from a freeze frame was a major flaw, failing to be open abt this was a major flaw, what we need to know is was this an isolated incident & do we have proper, adequate protocols for dealing with such issues.
#OutsideIsFree has never rang so true.
Throw your gear in the car, download the free SkyView Lite app and drive to Marshall Pass, Kenosha Pass, Monarch Pass, Wolf Creek pass, La Veta Pass, Shrine Pass and save yourself about $700 dollarsโฆ
David Bruce Alfie Michael Stewart I mean send the match referee to the monitor and at least ask him to review it from the available pictures.....surely more credible than someone in an offence. But we go back to why VAR would get involved if not working??
Alfie Michael Stewart If VAR wasn't working then 1) why did VAR get involved? 2) how on earth can the guys at VAR make the decision?
If VAR can't say for definite then it becomes a subjective call, that should always be the on-field refs decision not VAR.
Calls into question the integrity of it all
Alfie Michael Stewart No they don't guess, match officials on the pitch make a judgement call based on their view of the incident, that's fine, here guys in an office who had no idea what happened guessed and override the on-field decision based on that guess.
Why not go with the on-field decision??
Stephen R Power The world started to go to shit when we began accommodating people who didn't want their beans touching the rest of their breakfast......an abomination!!!!!!!!!
Behind The Whistles Surprised this isn't getting more coverage, an absolutely outrageous situation that should never have happened, heads should roll. If VAR not working go with on-field decision.
Why would VAR get involved if not working??
