This week our team was busy getting ready for the start of our summer season. Yesterday our staff visited the Yukon Archaeology and Palaeontology Collections to delve deeper into the history of Beringia and the Ice Age. Who knew staff training could be this cool?

This slab preserves two species from ~500 million years ago: Waptia fieldensis and Marrella splendens. It was found in Yoho National Park, BC. This fossil is one of many on loan from the Royal Ontario Museum that will be part of our new “First Life” exhibit opening on May 17.

2.5 years after Dr Donna Yates' call for PhD candidates in , I'm excited to announce that I'll be doing precisely this: a PhD on Law and Palaeontology at Law in Maastricht! Starting date tbc - but from then, I'll be doing dinosaur law full-time for 4 years. Can't wait!

I'd condense this whole thread into the fact that a superficial knowledge of a subject (in this case palaeontology) does not make you an expert on the matter. What a tiktokker may think 'feels right' does not make palaeontologists wrong. This plays into all conspiracies.

May the force be with you! Did you know Jar-Jar Binks, designed by Terryl Whitlatch in the 1990s for Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, was heavily based on hadrosaurs as well as amphibians? We recognize Jar-Jar’s duck-billed mouth in some of the hadrosaurs in our galleries.

Lykhosherstov was born in Sevastopol, studied at Kharkiv University at the Faculty of Natural Sciences, and graduated in 1917. While retaining passion for palaeoart and palaeontology he became a teacher and experimental sculptor.
