We all know that lovable PD Bert is as mad as a box of frogs but this air dried beef head skin doesn’t seem to have calmed him down.

Doing a bit of work with PD Bert this morning getting him ready for the Devon County show & also for his new handler Kevin on the 21/5. PD Albert and PD Bert will be working the same area at Plymouth. Here PD Bert is demonstrating an emergency stop followed by emergency recall.

#PDDare had a sunrise visit to the memorial after his nightshift. Hopefully he enjoyed his sleep before his last shift of the set tonight.

Phil has only had TPD Blue for just over a month but he has really brought him on.

Really enjoyable day yesterday with TPD Blue & his sister TPD Belle. Phil demonstrating a down stay, retrieve of his toy and ‘Out’ 👏

PD Bert will be leaving me on the 21/5 to go to his new handler Sgt Kevin Rigers who is the supervisor for Ashburton and Plymouth dog sections. Kevin’s dog PD Rudi retires that week. I puppy walked Rudi and watched him go on to be a very successful PD with Kevin.

Looks like TPD Bron needs a bigger dog flap and the cat now doesn’t need a cat flap.

A bit of environmental work on the fire escape before starting their first introduction to person searching in the building. Phil has done lots of work with TPD Blue and it shows. TPD Belle was a little sensitive on coming down stairs in the early days but not anymore.

Both TPD Belle and TPD Blue both very enthusiastic on the introduction to their first person searching training session yesterday.👍

The teams being presented to our guests at today’s passing out parade at the end of the January 2024 Initial course.

There's a #policedog nursing home on Jiulong Mountain in Fuyang District, Hangzhou, China. It was built by a retired policeman, Bai Yan, at his own expense over the years. More than 30 police dogs have spent their old age here.

PD Rico being reunited with his puppy walkers Ian and Lyn Parlour at today’s passing out parade.

Our special guest today was John and PD Albert popping in to see his younger brother PD Bert on his passing out parade.

TPD Blue can take or leave the food and so an end toy has been introduced earlier than I would like. The drive has already kicked in and so the introduction of variable placements of the toy will be necessary to maintain concentration from the track start. Looking promising.👍

To finish the display PD’s Rico and PD Sid demonstrated how to deal with a disorderly crowd.

At the start of yesterday’s training session it was obvious that TPD Belle was very determined about not giving up her toy and so we worked on that before our toy search work. I’m looking forward to having this young lady who I think is delightful.
