How lucky I was to have today off and stumble across Colchester Archaeological Trust in Red Lion Walk today.

As much as I love my job - I do miss archaeology and being on site.

This Roman Bath House is 1900 years old. Some of the Roman waterproof concrete (opus signinum) is still lining the hot bath (caldarium), and there is a lead water pipe (toxic, I know) still embedded in the wall of the cold bath (frigidarium).
