This was the 1st for Cornwall and attracted quite a few visitors. It was my fifth and final Cornish tick for the year.

White-crowned Sparrow eventually showed at Rosudgeon today. It’s the first for Cornwall so really pleased to connect.

Rosudgeon, Cornwall - after dipping on Sunday, I was pleased the White-crowned Sparrow appeared right in front of me this morning. ⁦Cornwall Birds⁩

Excellent views of Cornwall’s 1st White- crowned Sparrow at Rosudgeon this morning . Showing dark lores and relatively stubby pinkish bill indicative of ssp leucophrys from Eastern Canada. Potentially the 17th for Britain , amazingly 4 have turned up this year!

After only fleeting glimpses the White-Crowned Sparrow finally gave great views this morning to a throng of twitchers at Rosudgeon around about 11:30am BirdGuides

Home safe, brew in hand.. well that was a terrifying drive home. From porthleven to rosudgeon zero visibility, fog was awful. Thankfully we’re home okay..👍 but I did have a good sing song with my daughter in the car 🤣🤣 no better feeling than coming back to Penzance ❤️

Daily Rarity Roundup Sun 3rd Dec

The White-crowned Sparrow was again present at Rosudgeon in west Cornwall but the Isabelline Wheatear was not seen in Dorset.

Other lingering rarities included Red-breasted Geese in Lancashire and Essex, a Richardson's Cackling Goose in County

Next stop for Cornwall's Bishops to discuss their On The Way plans is Germoe in Kerrier Deanery. Kerrier has a highly controversial plan to merge 23 parishes. Clergy cuts left this area (from Lizard to Rosudgeon) with just 2 stipendiary clergy. 4-6pm 2 Jul

Couldn't resist a trip to Rosudgeon in Cornwall with Sara McMahon @[email protected] to see the White-crowned Sparrow and it didn't disappoint and showed well,having seen my 1st in Norfolk Cley village, it was nice to see this one which I believe is a 1st for the county nearer home.

It's all serious on here but the sun is shining so here are some shades to sell at Rosudgeon Car Boot tomorrow 8 May
