Thought we had spotted a Penguin down at Mawnan today 🤣

Approx 120,000 Manx Shearwater moved past St Ives island on 9th April. Wind direction was WNW gale force with gust maxing at 62mph overnight.

Classic seawatching at St Ives Island, Cornwall yesterday when SW gales turned NW overnight. Between 7 and 10 am 60,000 Manx Shearwaters Puffinus puffinus passed at close range. They were still moving through at a rate of 150 a minute but a little further out when I left. Cornwall Birds

A Greater Scaup female candidate at St. Gothian 1450 today, unfortunately the Tufteds shifted position and I only got one shot of it. Bill large, and a nice amount of white, but maybe optimistic? Cornwall Birds

Am I right to think this is the Kumlien's Gull reported on and off recently? At St. Gothian 1440 today. It's not the Iceland Gull I photographed in Hayle on 26th Mar due to the condition of it, and it sadly appears to be oiled on underparts. Cornwall Birds
