Why we can't control rivers.

Rivers are incredibly powerful. They can carry massive amounts of water, sediment, and debris downstream, and they're constantly changing course and shape. This makes it incredibly difficult to predict exactly what a river will do at any given time.

lighthouse prince cole It's also wrong to disturb the site because the site is now made with their remains. There are no bones or bodies that are seeable, they are all eroded and decomposed down there, the sand and sediment is made partially of the victims. So moving it is not rescuing any body

Takuma ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฆ USCGNortheast I'm assuming they wouldn't tweet just to say they found Titanic debris in the Titanic debris field. It would be pretty easy to tell (based on sediment on the debris) if it is old or recent.

today's smells like a recollected memory of diving into dirty lake water and swimming all the way down to the bottom, young hands grazing sediment collected in strata of clear and untouched passage of time. nostalgic, muddy, aqueous, and feral.

A heap of sediment cores to investigate, a nice view out of 'the office' and lava cake... Definitely a good way to spend our midnight-noon Saturday!

We sequenced and assembled the genome of the priapulan, Tubiluchus corallicola (a tiny marine worm that lives in the sediment of Castle Harbor, Bermuda). It may just be a tiny worm, but we hope it'll make a big contribution to understanding the evolution of molting animals!
