Last night was Chesnyy's first experience with fireworks! If she's going to be successful as a #ServiceDog , it's vital she's comfortable working in situations that might be loud. She wouldn't be able to do her job if she panicked at a firework or was anxious with thunder.…

I'm a #ServiceDog . That means I need to be able to think on my paws and be prepared to perform potentially life altering, heroic tasks.

Like picking up the toilet paper. Who knows how bad the situation could have been without me.

It's really hard to pull doors closed from a wheelchair, so I've been teaching Chesnyy.

I wonder how long until she realizes 'Shut the Door' can easily turn into 'Open the Fridge'.

We don't necessarily need to be friends with those that are different than us, but we do need to be respectful, gentle and kind to them.
Part of #ServiceDog training is exposure to other small animals.
