The inscription credit the Tomar Rajput kings of Gwalior for its creation.

These Tirthankara idols were defaced around 1527 by Babur after Raja Vikramaditya Tomar of Gwalior was martyred, fighting against him.

These Jain monuments were built from 7th-15th CE, depicting all 24 Tirthankaras who are the saviours/spiritual teachers of Jainism
