The value of designing smarter workflows rather than just new web apps via Benedict Evans #smartworkflowdesign
Kicking off this week's #designsprint for Smart Workflow Design
Looking for five people who are deciding which business processes to automate (first) to test a prototype of a new tool / process π€

Aron Korenblit Here are some visual notes I took on my iPad.
I want to create a simple, visual language to help nocde workflow automators and 'clients' to design smart workflows before building them. First attempt π
#nocode #smartworkflowdesign
Before you automate business processes, focus on simplifying them. There is no point connecting 5 different tools to complete an unnecessarily complex process when you could use 2 tools to automate a simpler version of the same process. #smartworkflowdesign
Business processes are essentially made up of three types of tasks: accessing information, making decisions and taking action.
These tasks could be performed by you or another party or both (e.g. helping a customer decide which phone plan to choose). #smartworkflowdesign
Zach Klein Great example of solving a workflow challenge vs. making a ride hailing service. Rider hailing us one possible solution to getting from A to B #smartworkflowdesign
Mike Brevoort Built a quick lunch order bot to test this out. Workflows are quick and easy to create. Slack's #workflowbuilder connects triggers and actions without having to leave Slack (e.g. the form isn't a Typeform with a Zap that sends a notification to Slack) π #smartworkflowdesign
Parabola Colleen M. Brady Thanks for playing π There's your answer Colleen M. Brady
In my specific use case, my form has two fields:
1. Your email
2. First name
Entering a full name is probably a habit and isn't common. Going to just remove the name field!

Carlous Ben Tossell Andrew Davidson Zapier @landenapp Airtable @revue π― they are related but distinct problems to solve. Building a #nocode app is just what it sounds like. Output is an app / website. What I call #smartworkflowdesign is more about automating manual workflows. Output is less manual work / speed / scale.
