yall ever think about after aang hid the letter from sokka&katara, sokka tells him to go to the north pole alone. aang really thinks that he's going to have to continue this journey and figure this all out all by himself? & aang can only blame himself for that outcome? yeah :(
he's abandonment issues jumped out in that episode :( he knew he was wrong but fear clouded his judgment and when sokka lashes out, aang accepts the lashing bc he knows he's hurt his friends, he's completely ashamed/angry w himself for his behavior
really confused as to why people are genuinely mad at Aang's characterization in the Bato episode for hiding a letter from Katara & Sokka.. they literally show that he has abandonment issues 😭 It makes perfect sense
things i loved about natla: the cave of two lovers being about sokka and katara's sibling love!! the focus on platonic relationships is so important in avatar the writers cooked with this one
Aang and Toph's friendship means sooo much to be, like it's soo underrated, just like how Aang and sokka's is imo, like look at them...they're like Siblings to me, I'd even go and say best platonic friendship between a boy and a girl in ATLA. Like not everything is romance yk
