EducatingLincs Q3 By allowing an ambitious KS3 to weave its magic. When you see what teachers and students can really do with a beautiful, sequenced & challenging curriculum they won’t want to be limited by a GCSE specification.

Louise Cass EducatingLincs Louise Lewis David Gash Definitely agree with this - we are currently looking back at KS2, and drawing up a document clearly showing what we would expect them to remember and be able to do from KS2, so that we are building on this in y7 and beyond.

Laura Deamer Ricky McCurdy EducatingLincs Write numbers as products of factors until all the factors are prime. It means the multiplication doesn’t get ‘lost’ in the process e.g
30=2x15
= 2x3x5

EducatingLincs Sadie Thompson 💙 Jennifer Beattie We block/chunk language as we introduce it but recycle as much as we can,retrieve,strengthen memorisation,question,continuously develop understanding. It’s all about creating boxes then teaching pupils to come out of boxes instead of stacking them up individually

EducatingLincs Create an ethos and department where staff know they and their opinion and knowledge are valued. Never plan alone, continue to improve as a team not just you as a leader. Everyone as so much experience and expertise it would be daft not to draw upon it

EducatingLincs Laura Deamer Sharon Malley What sort of mathematicians do we want our pupils to be? How do we want them to think about mathematics? If that is how we want them to behave mathematically, how do we structure and design the curriculum to allow that to happen?

Sadie Thompson 💙 Silvia Bastow FCCT EducatingLincs Jennifer Beattie You'd be more than welcome! Stripped down, driven by communicative functions but lots of recycling. Textbook rarely used (the odd exercise) but have been genuinely pleased. Next year will be Year 3, so proof will be in the 'option uptake' pudding.
