NEWS: World Health Organization (WHO) verified that Mali has eliminated the leading infectious cause of blindness—trachoma. This ancient disease has blinded people for centuries, which contributed to untold opportunity loss in education and employment seeking. But Mali has stopped the sight-stealer!
Good sanitation will help reduce the burden of disease e.g. diarrheal diseases like cholera, dysentery and typhoid; intestinal worms, NTDs such as schistosomiasis and trachoma etc.
