Today's lightning risk map has been updated ahead of the severe weather threat for tonight and into tomorrow. Unfortunately, there are still model discrepancies, but thunderstorms will be possible almost anywhere over S England with frequent lightning and potentially large hail.

A new thunderstorm has developed off the coast of Ostend in Belgium, travelling west. This could be one of the many thunderstorms that impact SE England tonight.
