This time 6 months ago I was 2 hours into a 7 hour surgery to remove my bladder and divert my kidneys to drain into a urostomy bag. There’s not a doubt in my mind it saved my life and I finally feel like I’ve accepted the urostomy. It’s been the biggest rollercoaster 🧵 1/

9. I actually can’t believe this has made it into the list of things I’m grateful for because I struggled to accept it for so long. But 6 months post bladder removal, I feel very thankful for my urostomy. I realise it saved my life and has given a much better quality of life! 10/

It's eye exam day. Tomorrow is another infusion.
Next week, I get the tube for my urostomy bag switched out and a check-up with the urologist.
I think that makes 6 appointments this month. Ugh

Rock Art near Bonda with Bhaskar's help was truly remarkable, especially with my urostomy bag! Deep, local 7th-grader, guided us to the medieval motif site, likely used for playing with cowrie shells by locals of that period. Remarkably, he & his friends plays board games there
