#visionzero means mobility is a function of safety, not vice-versa. This statement demonstrates a huge lack of knowledge.

The City of La Mesa proposes traffic calming around Lemon Avenue Elementary, over 27 collisions here since 2011. #VisionZero proposal includes:

- Tabletop Raised Intersection
- Parking Removal
- New ADA-compliant sidewalks
- Reduced speed limit under #AB43

Adding the bike lanes on University between 5th and 3rd is a definite improvement. But the removal of the bike lane on westbound University before 6th is a deal killer. #VisionZero

In a city with a street layout like DC's, these kinds of changes make a huge, positive impact. They are truly #VisionZero compliant.

Looking at the crash pictures and damage done, the driver most likely continued on 6th St NW ignoring a stop sign.
