Here's VIDEO of the exchange between Ward 8 Clr Danko and Ward 3 Clr Nann earlier in the meeting.
Needless to say, Nann did not appreciate having her questions labeled as 'misinformation' by Danko.

Ward 2 Clr Cameron Kroetsch takes issues with Danko's statement accusing the delegate of 'disinformation' says that accusing people of 'disinformation' is not in keeping with the Code of Conduct. Applauses in the audience.

A lobbyist is being allowed to sit in the closed section.

If the City Clerk is going to tell members of the public that the east gallery is closed to them, then it should also be closed to lobbyists.

Ward 9 Clr Brad Clark says the City has to allow delegates to express themselves.
Clark reminds Council that the Charter of Rights and Freedoms gives delegates the right to speak, and that other municipalities allow delegates to express their opinion, Hamilton should too.

City staff are presenting the LRT operating model options to Council.
Following the presentation, council members will be able to ask questions to staff.
Then debate will follow. I'll publish vote declarations and moments of interest here.
[New Thread starts now]

VIDEO:
Ward 9 Clr Brad Clark asking Hamilton City Council to allow delegates to share their opinions.
Clark notes the City is bound by the Charter *and* it is standard practice in Ontario municipalities to allow delegates to express their opinion.

The second delegate is arguing that Metrolinx is seeking to contract out LRT operations to pay workers less, lack job security, etc.
Ward 8 Clr Danko calls a point-of-order saying the delegate is implying a motivation they cannot prove.

On the screen, as the delegate cites examples of failed public contract outsourcing to the private sector, Ward 3 Clr Nann is nodding in agreement.

Ward 8 Clr John-Paul Danko closes by saying 'it is unfortunate that the ATU continues to spread 'disinformation''
There are jeers from the public gallery.
Many small tension points thus far today at Council.

Ward 8 Clr John-Paul Danko is asking questions to debate the delegates.
A back-and-forth between Danko and the delegate ensues.
Eventually, Maureen Wilson in the Chair, reminds council they should be asking questions.
Debate continues between delegate and Danko continues

McMeekin's statement 'leaning very strongly' is enough for me to put him as a YES, but I've lightened the colour to reflect 'leaning' before 'very strongly'

99.9% of the expression controversies that City of Hamilton City Hall gets itself into could be prevented if they read a Grade 10 civics textbook.
We are nearly 90 minutes into the meeting, most of which has been spent arguing if delegates can express opinions

People are entitled to their five minutes in front of Council, they should be free to express viewpoints, even if Hamilton City Hall does not want to hear those viewpoints. (Libel and other exceptions apply, but geez, this is so far from that)

Mayor Andrea Horwath: 'We can win the values battle, but lose the war' says she's done 'lots' of this 'in the past 20 years' and am 'frankly tired of it'
She will have an amendment.
I'm hearing amend is five years private operation, then HSR take over in Year 5

It will be an interesting week. The Keep Transit Public campaign knows they only need switch one vote to their side to deadlock Council into a 8-8 tie.

Danko asks staff to confirm that Ottawa LRT, a 'debacle' as described by many delegates, is the public operation model.
Staff confirm.

Ward 1 Clr Maureen Wilson asked staff to state that Council is expanding HSR service and increasing funding.
After staff did, she says people need to know Council is committed to public transit.
Now questions on risk of LRT operation.
