The first grizzly bear was reported yesterday, April 30, around the Jasper Park Lodge Golf Course and Trail 7 looking for early spring green-up!
🐻 do not approach the animal - keep 100 meters away from any bear, cougar, or wolf

Here we have a nice-sized Black Bear on a chilly June morning. If you watch closely you can see the bear's breath in the cool morning air.

Bikes are good by nature. But like anything that’s manufactured, they come at a cost to the environment. You can take simple action—using your bike exactly as intended—to fully offset the carbon cost of your ride. All it takes is riding 430 miles you would have otherwise driven

You'll notice this calf doesn't stray far from its mom and at one point almost gets stepped on. Cows are very protective and will aggressively defend their young against any perceived threats.

Had a pair of visitors to my yard this evening. First time seeing Mallards in my yard. It looked like they were settling in for the night but flew away after spending about 30 mins relaxing. 🦆

Apparently this happened recently in southern Alberta. These bears can move when they want to! Imagine if this was a cyclist and not a motorist.
