Loved speaking to Amy Mount about oil and gas transition in the UK on her brilliant new podcast--and delighted to be her second guest!
Highly recommend hitting subscribe and catching up on the previous episode with Rachel Wolf as well.

And because fossil fuels aren’t just used to fuel our homes, but to produce and transport most of our goods and services, they push all our prices up.

At its peak, 75% of UK inflation could be explained by the spike in energy prices ⬇️

Blown away by the students, teachers and mission of Glebe Farm School. Their commitment to sustainability, social responsibility and integrity are so inspiring, & the students gave me the best advice about how to keep going when things feel tough. Can't wait to visit again!

NEW: For every pound Shell invested in renewables in 2023, the energy giant invested £4.68 in fossil fuels and paid out £8.87 to its shareholders.

The for-profit energy giant cannot save us.

'If Norway can do it, then so can we. Case by case, field by field, the legitimacy and legality of continuing to drill for oil and gas during the climate crisis is being successfully challenged'. Great piece by Tessa Khan in the The Guardian @suspol

A court in Norway, a major oil & gas producer, just invalidated multiple drilling permits on the grounds that climate impacts weren't fully considered. The same assessment process is at the heart of multiple cases in front of UK courts.
My thoughts here:
