Workers at Electrolux's Adelaide factory walked off the job today, a last resort as the company tries to short-change them. They've already twice voted down the substandard agreement that comes with restrictive conditions around when they can take leave.

AMWU members have campaigned for years to rebuild local manufacturing with the industries and jobs of the future that can support our regional communities for decades to come. The Future Made in Australia Act is a pivotal step in making that happen.

There's a clear pathway to creating good manufacturing jobs in the transition to net zero. Our report today, launched at the Kagan Institute, sets our clear opportunities in manufacturing solar panels, wind turbines, high voltage cables, batteries and electric heavy vehicles.
