A dreamy, pale pink variant of Early Purple Orchid (Orchis mascula) amongst the Bluebells near Gatwick airport this afternoon.

I just set out to walk to town. There are kingfishers courting in the flooded woods by the river!

Also grey wagtail, oystercatcher and goldcrest heard so far.

So, not only have Norfolk County Council ignored years of advice & submitted a planning application for the NWL...🤨

But some MPs have written to DEFRA Secretary of State to out-maneuver Natural England's bat guidance which could block the road, labelling their work as 'arbitrary' 🙃🥺
