One of Ray Dalio's principles for life & work is 'radical candor.' It matters for organizational design & a culture of continuous improvement.

The issue is that candor is a skill & leaders have to learn about & practice it for it to be used well.

It's nice to say that 'we do what's best for kids.' But, without candor about current conditions, we're perpetuating the status quo.

In a 'culture of nice,' people hold back their thoughts for fear that they'll disturb the comfort of the status quo.

Without candor, making improvements is either impossible or random, neither of which is good for kids.
