Charpentier’s Te Deum: what a magnificent piece! French Baroque at its finest. Envying anyone who hadn’t heard it before. Thanks to BBC Radio 3 & Tom McKinney for the full work.
We're an hour into Classical Live on BBC Radio 3. Still to come before 4 - Dvorak's radiant 11th String Quartet and music from the Eurovision song contest by 2006 winners Lordi. Well not really. But there is a Eurovision link to some stunning choral music by Charpentier.

The spirit of Robert Schumann flows through Wigmore Hall at lunchtime. Nicolas Altstaedt & Dénes Várjon play his Fantasy Pieces, then the premier of Jörg Widmann’s Album Leaves (a witty and affectionate Schumann homage). Then big, passionate Brahms. Join us 1pm BBC Radio 3
The only time I've seen Stravinsky's The Rite of Spring actually done as a ballet was this sensational production in Copenhagen in 2019. This afternoon in Classical Live BBC Radio 3 it's the Radio France Philharmonic doing some damage to your listening devices in The Rite at 3pm.
Last concert in the series today - we’ll be back in September! A huge thanks to Katie, Flo, Aimee and all Leeds Concert Season for all their fantastic support, with Lucy and the tech team for the streaming. And all the wonderful performers for taking part.
