Great nature walk around #Swalecliffe #Tankerton this morning with andy taylor of eco group of CT5 People’s Forum - as well as loads of migratory birds - we saw these amazing caterpillars of brown tail moths on local sea buckthorn bush - Next walk at 0800 Sunday 12 May!

NEWS: The number of sewage spills in England last year jumped by 54-percent with 118 spills in Swalecliffe alone.

Water bosses have placed some of the blame on wet weather but Sally Burtt-Jones, from campaign group SOS Whitstable, told #kmfmnews there's no excuse

3.6 million hours of sewage in 2023.

That's 410 years worth of sewage in a year, or 1.12 years per day.

To put that in context, it's enough time to watch the entire Lord of the Rings trilogy (extended cuts) 316,476 times in a row.

And this year's on course to be worse.

Swalecliffe. The Spring migration seems to have stalled. With Long-tailied Duck and Red-throated Divers on the sea giving it more of an end of Winter feel. Had some good views of a couple of our local Raptors today
