The Govt was warned cutting the aid budget would disproportionately hit women and girls – yet they cut it anyway.

This document is a damning indictment of the aid cuts. So important it is now in the public domain. Thank you Sarah Champion.

The Government made cuts to UK aid knowing that it would impact women & girls the most. The UK now has the opportunity to reverse the unequal impacts of the cuts & scale up aid funding in a way that invests in women and girls, including in crises, & through development worldwide.

The Equalities Impact Assessment shows that the UK Government knew that cuts to funding on Sexual & Reproductive Health & Rights would directly impact efforts to advance gender equality. The UK must now reverse these cuts & properly invest in their commitment to women and girls.
