Spring has sprung at Undercliffe this morning with an appearance of English Bluebells. Ground volunteers flat out with cutting and strimming!

I wonder what Colonel Thomas Atchinson would think to us flying over Undercliffe Cemetery. Looking forward to presenting all the data to those that now care for the cemetery and those interred there.

A beautifully carved ornament adorning one of the memorials at Undercliffe, can you spot the ladybird? They seem to be everywhere at the moment.

Great to meet the team from Bradford Archaeology and Forensics at Undercliffe today. Surveying the whole cemetery by drones. The footage will be pieced together and the resultant films will be made available to the Cemetery to share. A tremendous effort. Watch this space!

Following an architects plan from the 1980s we are recreating a seating area close to where the old chapels were. The benches have been donated by Rawdon Crematorium, we will be refurb them soon. A new raised flower bed and planting area will provide colour and attract wildlife.

Miserable Winter’s day but still plenty to catch your eye at Undercliffe Cemetery. Granite memorial to John Worsnop, artist/photographer (by Royal Appointment to Prince & Princess of Wales - awarded in 1882) looks superb whatever the weather and noticed a rare burial in New York!
