WARNING GRAPHIC IMAGES
This poor fox came in yesterday after having a plastic bottle stuck round his neck for at least 2 weeks!
Please, take a little extra care when throwing away rubbish.

Foxes' skulls are specially adapted for diving into snow
Red foxes and Arctic foxes dive headfirst into snow at up to 4 metres per second to catch small rodents, and the shape of their snouts reduces the impact force

Filled an old litter tray with soil in the hopes the foxes would dig in that instead of my planters. Chester wasn't impressed but at least Honey figured out the original use of the litter tray!

The building site foxes are still around and are now well-adapted to their daily changing environment. This guy is always easy to recognise by his mostly grey coat.

Set up the camera to catch who has been digging holes in my new planters. Thought it was just Chester (first clip) but turns out Honey is just as guilty!

Someone whose name starts with a C dug up the flowers in my new garden planters that I worked so hard on yesterday. He's lucky that he's too cute to get mad at!

Honey's injured leg is now fully healed, but she's still only making brief visits while her cubs are so young. They turned 3 weeks old yesterday!

Finally had a visit from the first hedgehog of the year! She was rooting around in the ivy I cut back the other day, probably looking for insects hiding in it. Chester was fascinated and wanted to see what she was up to

As the only wildlife hospital in the NOVA area, we rely on many other organizations to get orphaned, injured, & ill wildlife to us for treatment from various locations.

Big thanks to the AWLArlington, VA for responding to a call about a fox in distress with a trap on his neck.

No sign of Honey for a week so placed the camera closer to the fence in the hopes of spotting her. Sure enough, there she was waiting for Chester! Last time I saw her she was limping badly so I suspect she's just been resting and letting Chester look after her
