Dr. Jonathan Levine was announced as the new dean of the SVM. He currently serves as professor and head of small animal clinical sciences at Texas A&M University. He is set to begin serving as dean on August 1.

Cleft lip and palate affect more than 175,000 newborns every year. A recent UW School of Vet Med study has uncovered new information about orofacial development in mice that researchers believe could one day help reduce the risk of these birth defects in humans.
