Congratulations to Rachel Morse for being named the CNRE’s 2024 Outstanding senior. She participated in multiple research projects and held leadership positions in the Bird Club and the Wildlife Society. Rachel was nominated by Professor Sarah Karpanty (at right).

Ashley Dayer VT FISHWILD Dr. Ashley Dayer is part of a research team that compared the challenges and needs of birders with and without disabilities in order to focus on ways to include people with disabilities in wildlife-related recreation. Read more: bit.ly/3VxaZUY.

FWC senior Sydney Haney won two awards for photography at the SE Section of the Wildlife Society's Undergraduate Wildlife Conclave last weekend. She won first place in On-site Field Photography for her salamander picture, and second place in landscape with her lightning photo.

Virginia Tech placed 3rd among 20 teams at the SE Section of the Wildlife Society’s Undergraduate Wildlife Conclave. First place winners were: Rachel Morse-Research Presentation; Ezra Staengl Dendrology; Baxter Beamer-animal calling. Seth Bagbey placed 3rd in Riflery.
