'Eventually, all my tears culminated into a song,' says Chingneihmoi Zou, whose husband was brutally killed by a mob in May 2023 in Imphal, during the first week of the year-long ethnic violence in #Manipur . The Quint's Saptarshi Basak had visited Zou last year as well, in June.

In 2 days, the Manipur conflict will touch the 1-year mark. On 4 May, BJP MLA Vungzagin Valte was attacked by a mob in Imphal. His driver Thanghoulal was killed. When I met his wife Chingneihmoi in June she hadn't received his body. We met again last week.
