🎼 Last Wednesday saw the annual Composers' Orchestral Workshop where selected pupils have the rare opportunity of writing pieces for full Symphony Orchestra and having them performed by the School Orchestra.

Great to welcome Dan Trodden, principal tuba of BBC NOW & brass tutor Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama to Wells for tuba & Low Brass Masterclasses. Tchaikovsky waltzes for 4 tubas and Holst's The Planets were amongst the tunes filling our 14th century recital hall with wonderfully resonant bass sounds!

Wonderful to welcome the inspirational Ian Porthouse to kick-off our joint #brassband project with #wellscityband Academy and friends in aid of @teenagecancer trust. Huge thanks to Lyndon Chapman & Besson Brass for their support. Come and hear us on May 12th Cedars Hall 🎺

Met a delightful group of young men from WellsCathedralSchool as I came out of church at St Martin’s Cwmyoy in the Vale of Llanthony this Easter morning. Practise run for their gold The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award . Polite, engaging & enthusiastic ambassadors for their school. I wish them every success!
