So much corruption with this entire mess that is the

HMRC seem to operate with terrifying level of impunity

Integrity - FAILED
honesty - FAILED
objectivity - FAILED
impartiality - FAILED

I’ll take that as a breach of Civil Service code

Two startling sentences in the Sunday Times:

‘The government has awarded £1.5bn of taxpayers’ money to companies linked to the Conservative Party during the coronavirus pandemic. None of the firms were prominent government suppliers before this year.’

Great article showing a shift in narrative from the powers that be on
What we need now is a shift on HMRC behaviours on tackling the issue, as current methods simply “do not work”

A link to my article in today's Taxation . It is behind a paywall but the freeview section gives you the gist.

There are lots of examples where outcomes look too good to be true, but that is precisely the effect of the tax law.

Pete Timmins Gosh. No history in the industry, 1 month in £100M+ contract no questions asked or competition for tender.
That's incredible it's like they've an inside contact.

The government has given PPE Medpro a contract – not advertised to other bidders – to supply 25 million gowns for health workers. PPE Medro was set up 7 weeks earlier. It has close connections to Tory Party donors. Definition of corruption: Dishonest conduct by those in power.
