2021 was a remarkable year for Republicans in the TX House. @LujanforTX flipped #HD118 in a special election. Rep. Ryan Guillen joined the Republican party. We will grow our majority and continue the work in South TX. Republicans will continue fighting the good fight in 2022. #txlege

Last year, we saw protestors block ambulances from reaching emergency room entrances, preventing innocent people from receiving urgent medical attention. I co-authored and passed legislation to make this a crime. Recklessly endangering the lives of others is not acceptable.

I joint-authored and passed the legislation to make Texas a 2nd Amendment Sanctuary State. This legislation blocks state entities from assisting in or enforcing any overreaching firearm mandates or regulations from the federal government.

Last year we saw many seniors placed under virtual house arrest when nursing homes and long-term care facilities went into lockdown. Many were forced into isolation, barred from seeing their loved ones, and we never want that to happen again. 2/2

I co-sponsored SB 25 to ensure that nursing home and long-term care facility residents have the right to designate at least one 'essential caregiver' who cannot be denied visitation rights. 1/2

I joint-authored HB 3979 to ban Critical Race Theory (CRT) from Texas public schools and to get the focus off indoctrination and back on education. Divisive, un-American ideas like CRT have no place in our country and certainly not in our classrooms.

Today marks 80 years since the harrowing attack on Pearl Harbor that claimed the lives of thousands of American service members. I hope you will join me in taking time remember their sacrifice & the sacrifices of the many others who have given their lives for the sake of freedom.
