Two shiny new blue plaques have arrived in our office - ready to be unveiled over the next couple of months 🙌

Our next project focussed on memorials - iwm.org.uk/memorials/item… - war, and chocolate in collaboration with York Civic Trust.

This drew together primary records of the Bedern school, census and other local records, creating education materials for KS1.

Congratulations to David Skaith David Skaith - the first elected Mayor of York and North Yorkshire 🙌

We hope this will mean much-needed investment in York and North Yorkshire's heritage, high streets and net zero goals.

We are supporting the Helmsley Group's proposed re-development of Coney Street.

Whilst we objected to the initial scheme, Helmsley Group have worked closely with us and other organisations to establish a design that better benefits the city.

The next YCT Blue Plaque unveiling will take place on Monday 27th May.

It is to celebrate Austin Wright, the twentieth-century British sculptor at Green View, Upper Poppleton, which was his home, studio, and inspiration.
