This month our young chefs have been cooking up a storm at the YLP 🧑🏾‍🍳

We’ve had:
Pastry apple roses with homemade caramel sauce 🍎
French toast for breakfast 🫐
Cheese and chilli loaf 🍞

Not a bad way end January eh?

Thanks to The LOWE group and their “Young Lewisham Project Bathroom Fit-Out” Project, our bathrooms have recently been transformed and they are unrecognisable!

#Throwback to some October half-term fun 🎃👻🧡

From sweet-pong to up-cycling pallets, our team and students had a blast over the school holidays.

Whilst we all enjoyed the break, we’re glad to have all our young people back at the Project!

#TB to our bike donation to Southwark Day Centre.

The Lewisham Reparations group have been refurbishing these bikes across several weeks, ready to be used by Asylum Seekers at the centre.

We look forward to working with the Southwark Day Centre again soon 🤍

We’ve been working with local organisation Finding Rhythms who offer collaborative music-making courses for those at risk of (re)offending either within the prison estate or in the community.
 
This group have been learning how to produce and master a beat 🎧🎼🎤

Every Monday evening 4pm - 6:30pm and Saturday mornings 10am-1pm, we hold an UpCycle and boxing session.
 
It’s drop in, friendly and free so please join us!

We also do outreach so drop any requests for any housing estates or parks in the comments below ⬇️

At the YLP, our students learn in professional environments with high quality tools and equipment, guided by our team of supportive and knowledgeable tutors.
 
We love seeing our students’ creativity and individuality in their work - we can’t wait to see the finished product 👏🏽

Who breaks into a Foodbank?

This morning we arrived at work to find that our warehouse had been broken into. Work phones, donations, petty cash etc taken. They knew what they were doing.

We are a little bit broken today, already struggling with being short staffed. Tough day.
