That’s where I heard it first in 1970,from the AMU riding team members when I was trying to motivate them to opt for an Army career. They were not convinced that they would get a fair deal because I was a ‘ Sarkari Mussalman’ ( so they told me up front ).

General, I have explained in my book what a ‘ Sarkari Mussalman’ is. It is a derogatory term used by the Muslim Community against one of their own who they perceive as not showering undue favours . I always went by the rules and got his sobriquet, which I felt was unwarranted.
