Earlier today, a federal district court dismissed the lawsuit that X Corp. filed against Center for Countering Digital Hate.

X Corp. argued that it was trying to protect its users, but the suit was a transparent attack on the company's critics and on independent researchers.

The ruling in the Texas TikTok case is disappointing. Banning TikTok doesn’t actually serve privacy because other platforms are collecting the same data, and because the same kind of data collected by TikTok can easily be purchased from data brokers. 1/X
