#825NAS are currently up at Prestwick Airport conducting training for both of the OCU courses. Low Level Nav, Maritime Security, Formation and Maritime Strike sorties are being conducted over the next week as the students close in on Wings!

The Army Air Corps RNAS Yeovilton

Our QHIs have been teaching formation flying this week. A skill used to navigate multiple helicopters as one unit, tactically for pair attacks or even as part of display flying.

Feb 12th 1942, the RN attempted to stop a breakout by the core of Hitler's Navy from Brest to Germany - the 'Channel Dash', a date which has entered Fleet Air Arm & 825 NAS history.

This is the view from the flight deck during a night landing as a Wildcat hovers over the deck. We teach these landings with and without the aid of NVGs.

Over the last week we have been qualifying students for day & night deck landings.

Using these skills they will shortly be operating to the flight deck of RN ships around the world delivering maritime strike capability.
