It was a pleasure to remember my friend and mentor, Waun Ki Hong, at the #AACR24 Partners in Progress Reception last night—and a joy to share it with Ki's wife, Mi Hwa, and his son Burton. Ki's impact on the AACR was immeasurable, and we benefit from his legacy every day.

The AACR had six women Presidents in its first 90 years. On Monday, Dr. LoRusso will become the seventh woman AACR President in the last 15 years. We are grateful to #AACRWICR for all they do to advance leadership opportunities for #WomenInOncology . #AACR24

I had the opportunity to meet some bright students during the #AACR24 Undergraduate Poster Competition. I am proud to support the AACR's science education initiatives by sponsoring the prizes that recognize their outstanding research.

.Cancer Today editor William G. Nelson moderated a special #AACR24 session on Strategies to Effectively Communicate Science to the Public. The session was organized by AACR President Patricia M. LoRusso Philip D. Greenberg and featured Lisa A. Newman, Mary C. Beckerle, Bianca Islam, MD, PhD, MSc (she/her), and Clifton Leaf.

We are making final preparations for the #AACR24 Opening Ceremony and Opening Plenary. We have a full slate of awards and other special presentations, followed by a spectacular plenary session. Please join us Sunday morning at 8:00 AM PT.

We had an extremely productive meeting of the AACR Board of Directors today as #AACR24 kicked off here in San Diego. I am grateful to our remarkable board members for their expertise and their dedication to our mission.
