#Alaska : Amb. Duarte Lopes participated in the Arctic Encounter, having intervened on the panel “One World, One Ocean: Fish Stocks in Motion and the Blue Economy”, where he talked about the #BlueEconomy , with an emphasis on sustainable fishing, energy transition, and biotechnology.

It was an honor to join global leaders at the Arctic Encounter in Anchorage. Discussing the future of Arctic research and innovation, we emphasized the importance of collaboration and inclusivity in developing sustainable solutions.

It was a privilege to spend time at UAA and at the Arctic Encounter. Seeing the innovative spirit of Alaska's students, researchers and faculty fills me with optimism about the future of science and discovery.

We were so pleased to have NSF Director Sethuraman Panchanathan visit both UA Fairbanks and UAA during his trip to Alaska last week, where he also attended Arctic Encounter. The entire University of Alaska is doing critical research that supports the people of Alaska.
