Yesterday PFCC Zoë Metcalfe joined local stakeholders at North Yorkshire Police event launching the Clear Hold Build strategy for Barrowcliff in Scarborough.
It was great to hear how the initiative is going to help the local community & how they will be ‘Building Barrowcliff Together’.

We urgently need evidence based policies like Minimum Unit Pricing and a national stratergy with alcohol deaths now at a 20 year high.

Alcohol is not an essential commodity. It's a class one carcinogen and is also fuelling health inequalities.

Today's The Michael Marmot Institute of Health Equity UCL report shows that health is mostly determined by our social circumstances.

The next Gvt must introduce a dedicated health inequalities strategy & consider the health impact of EVERY decision so that everyone has an opportunity to live a long, healthy life.
