This month, we joined LES Ecology Center to host an E-Waste Recycling Event in the district! This was a great chance for residents to safely, legally, and sustainably dispose of unwanted electronics in their homes♻️

This year’s budget includes a new legislative package to improve housing affordability in New York. It isn’t everything we wanted but is the result of many weeks of negotiation and compromise. It includes many ground-breaking policies that will help us address the current crisis.

In this year’s budget, I was proud to champion the needs of Lower Manhattan. We have secured resources that will improve life for residents, including legislation to promote public safety and funding for vulnerable members of our community. More details on this budget to come!

I was proud to stand with Assemblyman Jeffrey Dinowitz & Nathalia Fernandez last week as the prime co-sponsor of their bill to eliminate NY's involuntary intoxication exemption loophole. We cannot allow perpetrators of sexual assault to use victim blaming to avoid accountability for their crimes.

Thank you Assemblymember Steven Raga for organizing Albany's first-ever Songkran celebration last week! For millions of Southeast Asians, this holiday signifies the traditional start of the new year and a time for unity & forgiveness. It was an honor to recognize it at our state’s capitol!

Budget: Done! We just passed the final set of bills (including The Big Ugly). On housing, we didn’t get everything we wanted, but we passed tenants protections & new programs for affordable housing. We also got a child tax credit & protections for reproductive care. Details soon!
