Just three more weeks to fill out our national survey! If you teach about the #BritishEmpire in an English secondary school, or are considering doing so, we want to hear from you!

👇This is consistent with findings of our report 'Beyond HESA' by Oxford UCU Anti-Casualisation Network (see oxforducu.org.uk), showing that hourly paid College tutors regularly earn less than the Oxford Living Wage and work (on average) 3.5hrs per paid contact hour! This crisis cannot continue!
As many of you know, I am a research assistant on an innovative project, led by Jason Todd & Alice Pettigrew. Today, we have been featured in Tes!! You can read the article here: tes.com/magazine/analy… and visit PortraitEMB for more information
So proud of us, team!! ❤️

University of Oxford is the world’s #1 ranked university. Academics at its colleges are regularly paid less than the living wage. We ran a survey this summer about their experiences. The results are damning. Here’s our new report on pay and conditions for casualised staff UCU #ucurising

really enjoyd this frm Wiseman Zondi: 'the irony of Zuma funnelling funds meant to empower black South Africans to high-powered PR execs (most of them white) in the UK... there is nothing radical, economic or transformational about the so-called RET force'

I wrote this piece years ago whilst researching for my PhD in Indo-British royal relations. The surrender of the gem was demanded in the treaty by the East India Company, together with the annexation of Punjab - all from its 10y/o king, Duleep Singh. 2/4
